Shifnal is very well located and well served with good road links to Telford, Wolverhampton and neighbouring towns which makes it a good place to live, work and visit!
The only motorway (M54) in Shropshire is located nearby with Junction 4 (Telford) 2 miles from the town centre and Junction 3 (Cosford) 3.5 miles. The M54 provides easy access to the Black Country, and West Midlands conurbation, the M5 and M6. The I54 development which is home to major manufacturers including Jaguar Land Rover, Eurofins and Moog Aerospace are within easy commuting distance. The nearby A41 provides direct links north to Newport and on to Whitchurch and Cheshire and south to Wolverhampton. The A5 provides easterly access towards Stafford and Cannock.
The nearest main international airports to Shifnal are Birmingham (38 miles via M54 and M6), East Midlands (57 miles via M6 toll) miles and Manchester (72 miles via M6).
Shifnal has its own railway station on the Birmingham to Shrewsbury line offering good access to rail interchanges for London and the north and Manchester and the north. The station is managed by West Midlands Trains, who provide the majority of services that call here (it is also served by Arriva Trains Wales, primarily on Sundays).
There are two free car parks in Shifnal, Aston Street (long stay) behind the Co-op Food store and King’s Yard Cheapside (behind the Post Office) operated by Shropshire County Council as well as some short term parking on Cheapside.
